Across England, there are many different National Governing Bodies (NGBs) who have responsibility for managing their specific sport. Your governing body can offer support in many ways, from providing guidance and support on safeguarding and welfare, to information on coaching requirements or helping to identify and develop talent within your sport.

The national governing bodies of sport are known as NGBs. They include organisations such as The Football Association, The Lawn Tennis Association and England from overseeing rules, clubs, coaching and competitions, the NGB of each sport decides how to spend income generated by membership fees, TV rights, Lottery Grants and investment from Government and the four UK Sports.

Abide by the code of conduct within their coaching context. Sport coaches follow the code of conduct established by the governing bodies of the sport including international, national, regional and/or local organizations.
